Terms of Service
Last updated: July 14, 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
These terms are a contract between you and Rise ("we", "us") covering your use of the Rise iOS app and this website (together, the "service"). By downloading or using Rise, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. The service
Rise is an alarm app that asks you to complete a wake mission — such as pushups, scanning a barcode, photographing the sky, or solving math problems — before an alarm can be dismissed. It includes optional progress features such as streaks, XP, badges, and cosmetic unlocks.
Rise requires a compatible iPhone (iOS 26 or later). The service is provided for your personal, non-commercial use.
3. Accounts
Rise creates an anonymous account automatically so your progress can sync. You may optionally link Sign in with Apple to keep your progress across devices. You are responsible for keeping your device and Apple ID secure; anything done through your account is treated as done by you.
You can delete your account at any time — see Delete Account.
4. Subscriptions and purchases
Some features require a paid subscription ("Rise Pro"). Payment is charged to your Apple ID through the App Store. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
You can manage or cancel your subscription any time in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your Rise account does not cancel a subscription. Billing and refunds are handled by Apple — you can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Prices may change; changes apply only to renewals after notice through the App Store.
5. Alarms are not a guarantee
We work hard to make Rise reliable, but alarms depend on your device and its settings (battery, storage, Do Not Disturb configurations, OS behavior, app permissions). Do not rely on Rise as your only means of waking for critical obligations — flights, exams, medical duties, or anything where oversleeping causes serious harm. Use a backup for those.
6. Health and safety
Some wake missions involve light physical activity (for example, pushups). Only choose missions you can perform safely, stop if something hurts, and consult a doctor if you're unsure about exercise. Rise is not a medical device and provides no medical advice.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app, except where the law expressly permits;
- use the service in any unlawful way or to harm others;
- interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
- resell, rent, or redistribute the service.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its design, artwork, sounds, and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. Your data remains yours.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that alarms will always ring.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service — including missed alarms. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or €50, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your statutory consumer rights.
11. Termination
You can stop using Rise and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 8–10) survive termination.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If changes are material, we'll update this page and the date above, and highlight significant changes in the app. Continuing to use Rise after changes take effect means you accept them.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts of your place of residence or ours.
